Laser Hair Treatment Costs

Laser Hair Treatment

There are many of us who are not sure if laser hair treatment costs are too much for our budgets. There are some considerations to make before taking steps to going through this kind of procedure but you might find that it is well within your means. There is good reason that the approach to removing unwanted hair is so popular for many people.

The first thing that you want to consider is whether or not you are a good candidate for the process. You don’t need to worry about laser hair treatment costs if you really shouldn’t be going through the steps anyway. Skin tone as well as hair color have a lot to do with whether or not the approach is right for you.

Your skin shouldn’t be too dark or too light. Those who have really pale skin and those who have really dark complexions don’t need to worry about hair removal costs because they won’t benefit from the sessions. Also, if you love the tanning bed, you might have to wait until the tan fades before even considering the laser hair treatment costs.

The next thing that you want to consider is your availability. The process requires a commitment that you might not be able to make. If you can’t make regular visits for a period of time then there is really no point in getting the laser hair treatment costs. You are not spending your money well if you don’t complete all of the sessions.

You know that you have the will and you have the time. You also meet the criteria for an excellent candidate. Your tan is faded and your skin tone isn’t too dark or too light to suffer ill effects. Now you are ready to look at your budget starting with the laser hair treatment costs. This budget might hinge on how much hair you area going to remove.

For example, if you are just going to have the hair on your face removed you can expect to pay less than someone who is going to have a larger area like the legs or back addressed through this procedure. Laser hair removal costs vary according to how much area will be covered.

There is not answer set in stone for the cost of laser hair treatment procedures. Prices vary a little depending on your location and the professionals that complete the work. You can expect to pay the minimum of 1000 dollars total depending on your specific needs. Of course, this is subject to your program.

Home Remedies for Hair Removal (other option for laser hair treatment)

For those people that not into laser hair treatment, here is another option to remove unwanted hair. Before this I already discussed on the ways to remove hair in natural way, if you want to read about it, click here. Today I have found another way to remove it.

HOME REMEDIES FOR HAIR REMOVAL
• The simplest method is to shave the unwanted hair off as often as necessary, perhaps once or twice or week.
• Apply a mixture of besan and haldi (turmeric) with a little water, to face. When it dries, gently rub off. This will remove excessive facial hair.
• The technique of waxing hair removal is also very effective. In this technique apply wax with a butter knife on the hairy area, press down with a cellophane paper or cloth strip, and yank it off in the direction opposite to hair growth. Waxing will also make hair grow out thicker, but the growth will reduce in the long run if you keep waxing regularly.
• Plucking also helps in the removal of hair. Pluck them once or twice a week.
• Bleaching can also help to remove the facial hair.
• Prepare a mixture by adding haldi, besan and some curd and apply to the face. It is an effective remedy for the removal of facial hair.
• Simply wash your face twice a day with a face wash, and follow up with a toner. Apply a moisturizer after shaving. This is an effective home remedy for hair removal.
• Add a little haldi to the gram flour and water. The hair will come out.
• Try plucking out the hair with a pair of tweezers.
• Prepare a paste by adding a tablespoon of besan with a few pinches of haldi and a little malai and apply to the face.
• Lemon is natural bleach, so apply that with an equal amount of honey and leave on for ten to fifteen minutes. Do this everyday.
• When bathing, apply soap and scrub your hands and legs gently with a pumice stone everyday. This will take some time, but with patience your hair will gradually reduce and diminish.
• Mix lemon, sugar, and honey in a bowl. Microwave on high for about 2-3 minutes, until it bubbles into a smooth consistency. Spread a thin layer on your leg. Cover with a strip of fabric, and rubbing the strip the opposite way of hair growth, about 3 times. Grab the fabric end and pull it off very quickly against the direction of the hair growth. This is an effective home remedy for hair removal.
• A healthy lifestyle supplemented with proper diet is the magic key for healthy and beautiful hair.
• Sandpaper is also effective for the removal of unwanted hairs.
• Wash the ingrown hair area twice a day with a Panoxyl bar, an antibacterial soap of 10 percent benzoyl peroxide found at your local drugstore.
• Apply an over-the-counter hydrocortisone preparation such as Cortaid around the ingrown hair according to package directions.
• If ingrown hairs are inflamed and infected, change your razor blade each time you shave until the ingrown hair is gone.

Are you considering laser hair treatment?

Pain is beauty, right? Well if you're at a laser hair treatment salon, make sure the pain you're feeling isn't dangerous! Laser Hair Removal is designed to remove unwanted hair from the body by directing lasers at the follicles to prevent any new growth. It has become popular because it can remove hair permanently, as opposed to waxing or shaving which only remove unsightly hair temporarily. However, be careful who you decide to let burn your hair off! This is a procedure that should only be performed by a qualified professional. Defective equipment or technician errors have resulted in severe injuries like hideous scarring or burns after a failed treatment.

In 2001, a 34-year investment banker filed a suit in NYC after receiving second and third degree burns on her face from laser hair removal. The scarring has left her so embarrassed that she won't date anymore and hides her face at her office. She wears coverings on her face to hide her scarring and plastic surgeons confirm that they cannot repair her face. She lives every day with the regret for trusting a spa which she says told her the treatments were safe and conducted by trained technicians.

While this is a great advancement for us gals who want to be bare and sexy everywhere, you have to be sure to make sure you're receiving safe laser hair treatment. To help protect yourself go to a medical professional who has had a lot of experience in performing these treatments. If you cannot afford a qualified medical professional, you may want to reconsider if getting rid of hair is worth the risk. If you think that it is make sure that you learn about the qualifications of the person who will be performing the treatment. In some states no formal training is even required! Yikes! Really do your research girls! This is important enough to split hairs about! This process can really do permanent damage if botched ... and no lawsuit can repair that.

If you have been injured during a laser hair removal procedure you may wish to seek legal counsel. All injury claims are subject to strict time-limits; therefore you should seek immediate claim advice from a personal injury lawyer near you.

The Survey of Laser Hair Treatment

Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) June 26, 2008 -- American Laser Centers (http://www.americanlaser.com), the largest provider of laser hair treatment and other noninvasive aesthetic services in the U.S., today announces the results of a May 2008Zoomerang hair treatment survey that found women spend more than $10,000 on hair removal products and services over the course of their lifetime.

Survey respondents reported they will spend more than 58.4 days removing hair from their bodies during their lifetime. The survey also revealed that women remove unwanted body hair for an average period of 53.6 years using methods including shaving, waxing and depilatory creams.

While women report a small monthly spend on shaving, $15.87 per month, the lifetime investment for females who shave adds up to $10,207.

Delapidory cream- or lotion-users are paying slightly more than those who shave for their hair removal, $10,555 through their lifetime, yet they only remove hair one to two times per month.

Waxing is by far the most expensive form of hair removal. While respondents reported waxing only one to two times per month, women who wax will spend an average of $23,000 on hair removal in a lifetime.

American Laser Centers (http://www.americanlaser.com) conducted the hair removal study to determine the cost savings benefit of laser hair removal verses a lifetime of shaving or waxing. On average, women can save $7,000 by receiving laser hair removal on the areas of the body they typically shave. When compared to a lifetime of waxing, women can save $20,000 by receiving laser hair removal on the areas of the body they usually wax.

"As people are more time crunched than ever, laser hair removal has evolved into a lifestyle decision for our clients," said American Laser Centers Corporate Medical Director Dr. David Turok. "Like Lasik surgery for contact and glasses wearers, laser hair removal is a decision to free yourself from one of the most mundane processes in your life - hair removal. When performed by American Laser Centers trained professionals, laser hair removal is safe, effective and painless."

In addition, laser hair removal is a procedure that will help conserve water. Fifty-two percent of women surveyed reported shaving with the water running the entire time. Women surveyed reported an average shaving time of 10.9 minutes and an average of shaving 12 times per month. With the average shower using five gallons of water per minute, this means the average woman will use 7,848 gallons each year and a total of 420,652 gallons of water shaving throughout their lifetime, nearly enough water to fill an Olympic-size swimming pool. Only 2 percent of women shavers do not use water when shaving.

American Laser Centers (http://www.americanlaser.com) offers laser hair treatment services in most major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Phoenix and San Francisco. For more information about laser hair removal and to find an American Laser Centers clinic near you, visit http://www.americanlaser.com. American Laser Centers will conduct approximately two million treatments each year at its more than 220 locations across the country.

Survey Methodology

The American Laser Centers hair treatment survey was performed using Zoomerang to recruit a random sample of respondents for an online survey, 540 females between the ages of 18-65 were asked approximately 30 questions about their preferred hair removal approach, attitudes toward it, time invested in it and the cost to perform it.

Cosmetic surgery deals criticised

Demand for cosmetic surgery procedures is soaring

Cosmetic surgery clinics are rushing people into major procedures by offering limited time money-off deals, according to consumer magazine Which?

Which? says it has found eight clinics that it claims are breaking industry rules by "pressure advertising".

Cosmetic surgery. Is it for you?

One is offering a £500 discount on breast enlargement if the operation is carried out by the end of December.

Industry guidelines state that cosmetic surgery clinics "must not offer discounts linked to a deadline date".

'Life changing'

Websites for the companies mentioned by Which? carry details of the offers concerned.

One of the companies criticised was Surgicare which is offering £500 off breast enlargement procedures booked and taken before the end of this month.

It is also offering £200 off eye bag removal and three treatments for the price of two if they are undertaken before the end of January 2008.

The Harley Medical Group is offering discounts of up to £100 for laser hair removal treatment booked by the end of this month.

This is yet another indication that proposed self-regulation will not work for the cosmetic treatments industry

Jenny Driscoll, Which?

And The Hospital Group is advertising a £400 saving on any procedure carried out before the end of December.

Which? says choosing to have cosmetic surgery is "a major and potentially life changing decision" and it is "highly irresponsible" of clinics to rush people with time-sensitive discounts.

Independent Healthcare Advisory Services (IHAS) guidelines state: "Advertisements must not offer discounts linked to a deadline date for booking appointments or surgery or other date-linked incentives."

'Waste of money'

Jenny Driscoll, a health campaigner at Which? told BBC Radio Four that she hoped the industry would take note of the findings.

"We really hope that they will stop this pressure advertising which can rush people into surgery and treatments which they probably might not need, and also may cost them thousands of pounds and may end up being a waste of money," she said.

Which? says it has written to the IHAS and the companies involved.

"What is the point of having a code of practice if companies are going to ignore it?" Ms Driscoll said.

"This is yet another indication that proposed self-regulation will not work for the cosmetic treatments industry."

Which? says it wants the government to use the coming Health and Social Care Bill to introduce tighter regulations for the entire cosmetic treatment industry.

Figures released last week predicted that Britons would spend more than £1bn on cosmetic surgery in 2008.
